overgate hospice hebden bridge

Warning about Overgate Hospice Hebden Bridge for discrimination on face mask exemption. Christian and I entered the large furniture shop today, greeted by a male member of staff who asked us where our masks were. I replied that we were both exempt.

The staff member then asked to see our exemption cards, and I told him according to Government regulations we did not have to show a card. He replied “you could be lying” and then simply said “I’ll let you off”. Damage has been done. He judged wrongfully. I was horrified by this man’s discrimination and suspiciousness toward us both. Just because we are physically able, does not mean that we do not have an invisible illness.

A letter of complaint has been emailed to Overgate Hospice Hebden Bridge for Discrimination on face mask exemption. It is up to us to hold these people accountable for discrimination in the UK and use the Equality Act 2010 legislation to make them feel small, just like they bully and discriminate the vulnerable. THIS HAS TO STOP. As much as I can help others, I will make this section a platform to help the vulnerable in any way I can.

If you have faced discrimination by a shop assistant for not wearing a face covering, even though you are exempt, please write and get in touch and let me know if I can help you in any way. This is my third complaint, after raising complaints with Springhill Hospice John Street Rochdale, and Bon Marche in Bury. I received an apology for both, and they promised me that their staff members would receive further training to ensure that this did not happen again. We can make a difference to the lives of the vulnerable and mentally ill, but we must speak up.
